Granny J-2 is considered to have lived the longest life of any wild orca. It is estimated that she had already lived half of her life when people who were capturing whales encountered her. She was the matriarch of the Southern Resident Community.
We periodically send out announcements, action items and updates about issues affecting the Southern Resident Orcas and The Whale Museum.
The Whale Museum is currently operating under a new seasonal schedule.
The Whale Museum is now open Friday through Monday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
For school and adult groups wanting to schedule visits outside normal operating hours, we may be able to open the museum for your group by appointment! Please contact our Education Director Tracie Merrill (tracie@whalemuseum.org) at least one week in advance to inquire about our off-day availability.
