"Love Bites" Virtual Workshop

What better way to celebrate this Valentine's Day than learning about sharks! Come join The Whale Museum’s "Love Bites" Workshop virtually through Zoom! This workshop is open to the general public. 

This workshop’s theme will be: Sharks in the Pacific Northwest (and the whales who love to eat them)

Invited Presenters include:

• Dr. Dayv Lowry, Rockfish Recovery Coordinator, NOAA on an overview of Pacific Northwest sharks.

• Dr. Alexandra Mcinturf, CICOES Postdoctoral Fellow, Oregon State University on basking sharks.

• Jesus Erick Higuera Rivas, Marine Biologist, Conexiones Terramar AC on killer whale attacks on sharks (including whale sharks) off of California and Mexico.

• Jessica Schulte and Ethan Personius, Graduate Students, Oregon State University  on broadnose sevengill sharks and soupfin sharks.

Lisa Hiller, Senior Biologist, WDFW on bluntnose sixgill sharks and dogfish.

• Meghana Binraj, Founder and Scientist, Species and Spaces Foundation on ratfish. 

 Brianna Wright, Aquatic Biologist, Fisheries and Oceans Canada on the diet of offshore killer whales. 

The registration fee is $35 for non-members; $25 for TWM or SSAMN members.

Zoom link and workshop agenda will be sent to the email address provided at registration closer to the start of the workshop.
